Claude Code Setup

Claude Code setup and training for business owners, one-on-one on Zoom.

“I keep hearing I can build my own tools with Claude Code. I don't know how to start, or I started and got stuck.”

Claude Code is Anthropic's AI tool that reads your files, writes and edits code, and runs commands for you, all from plain English. You don't have to be a developer to use it, but the setup decides whether it earns a place in your week. In one hands-on $299 hour on Zoom, we install it with you, load in your business, set the guardrails and build one real thing together. After that, help is $125 an hour whenever you want it.

What Claude Code is, in plain English

Claude Code is made by Anthropic, the company behind Claude. Instead of chatting in a browser tab, it works inside a folder on your computer: it reads what's there, makes the changes, runs the commands and shows you what it did. It runs in a terminal, in the Claude desktop app, in a browser and inside code editors, and most of those need a paid Claude plan.

Owners use it to build the small tools nobody sells: a quote calculator, an inventory counter, a report that pulls itself together every Monday, or a website change that used to mean waiting on someone.

How to use Claude Code: the short version

  • Install it, or open the Code tab in the Claude desktop app, and sign in.
  • Point it at one folder for one project. It works on what's in that folder.
  • Say what you want in plain English, and ask for a plan before it changes anything.
  • Read what it proposes, approve it, then check the result yourself.
  • Write your rules in a file called CLAUDE.md. Claude Code reads it at the start of every session, so you stop repeating yourself.

Where owners get stuck

  • The install, the terminal and the first sign-in.
  • It built something, and now it won't run anywhere but your laptop.
  • It forgot what you told it yesterday.
  • It changed something you didn't ask it to change.
  • You're not sure which plan you need, or why you keep hitting a limit.
  • You don't know what's safe to connect: your email, your files, your accounts.

What we do in the hour

  • Install Claude Code on your machine and get you signed in on the right plan.
  • Write your CLAUDE.md together: what your business does, how you talk, and the rules it must follow.
  • Set its permissions, so it asks before anything that matters.
  • Connect one tool you already use, if the job needs it.
  • Build one real thing from your actual week, start to finish.
  • You drive and we coach. By the end of the hour you've done it yourself, on your own computer.

Guardrails first

The same tool that can build an app can also send an email or delete a file. Before anything gets built, we set what it's allowed to do on its own and what always waits for your yes: sending anything to a customer, touching money, deleting. Those rules are set in the tool itself, so they hold even on the day you forget to say them.

Already started and stuck halfway?

Bring the project. Plenty of owners get an app most of the way there with Claude Code, Lovable or Replit and then hit a wall: it works on their laptop and nowhere else, the login breaks, or one fix breaks two other things. An hour on Zoom at $125 is usually enough to find out what's wrong and what it would take to finish. If finishing it is a real build, we'll quote it plainly.

What the support covers, and what it doesn't

The 14 days of email support are there to help you build your next two things on your own, and to fix, tighten and answer questions along the way. They don't cover building new systems by email. If you want something built for you, that's a build, and we'll quote it plainly.

We build with it every day

This isn't theory. The websites, apps and agents we run for a salon, a rental company and our own agency were built with these tools, and we use them every working day. What we show you is the setup we use ourselves, including the mistakes we already made so you don't have to.

Claude Code or Codex?

Codex is OpenAI's version of the same idea, and it works with your ChatGPT account. For most owners the right pick is the one that matches the subscription they already pay for. We set up both, and we wrote a plain comparison if you're deciding.

Rather have it built for you?

Some owners don't want to learn it. They want it done. We build simple apps from $499 and single agents from $499, paid once, with setup and 30 days of direct access to us included. The free 30-minute AI audit is the fastest way to find out which makes more sense for you.

Anywhere in the U.S.

Sessions are on Zoom with your screen shared, so we work with owners anywhere in the country. In Denver and Pittsburgh, we're happy to sit down in person.

Questions owners ask

How do I start using Claude Code?

Install it or open the Code tab in the Claude desktop app, sign in, point it at one project folder and tell it what you want in plain English. Our $299 session does all of that with you and builds one real thing before the hour is over.

Do I need to know how to code to use Claude Code?

No. You need to be able to describe what you want and check the result. We teach you how to ask for a plan first, how to read what it proposes and when to say no.

What does Claude Code cost?

Claude Code itself needs a paid Claude plan or an Anthropic account billed by usage. We'll tell you which fits how you work before you pay for anything. Our setup session is $299, then $125 an hour.

Is it safe to let Claude Code work on my computer?

It is when the permissions are set properly. We set it to ask before anything that matters, and we keep it working inside one project folder.

Does it work on Windows and Mac?

Yes. Claude Code runs on both.

Can you help me finish an app I started?

Yes. Bring it to a $125 Zoom hour. We'll find what's broken and tell you what it takes to finish. If it's a real build, we quote it plainly.

Can my team join the session?

Yes. Bring whoever will use it.

Can you just build it for me?

Yes. Simple apps start at $499 and single agents start at $499, paid once.

Get your time back. Keep more of what you earn.

Tell us the one task eating your week. In the free audit we'll show you what an agent would take off your plate, and what it would cost.
